September may mark the end of summer and back to school for many, but in Kamloops there is still a lot going on. Whether you are a sports fan, a fan of culture or just looking to meet some new people, here are our picks of the must-see events coming up in September:

Slo-Pitch World Series

You read that correctly. NSA Canada brings the largest slo-pitch event Kamloops has ever seen when the Slo-Pitch World Series comes to Tournament Capital Ranch. The event runs daily from August 31st to September 4th and will feature a Championship Game worth $10,000 to the winning team.

Peaks Pedal Fest

Sun Peaks Resort will also feature an outdoor sporting event on Labour Day Weekend. The Peaks Pedal Fest will be September 2nd to 4th and will be to celebrate “a truly radical” season of bicycling.

Children’s Arts Festival

The Kamloops Arts Council hosts a two-day event mid-month known as the Children’s Arts Festival with this year’s promoted as being “under the big top!” Riverside Park is the venue and Day 1 (September 15th) includes afterschool karaoke and a family dance party. The second day (September 16th) will include circus-themed art, music and theatre. This is suitable for children aged 2 and over.

Provincial Winter Fair

Later in the month the Circle Creek Ranch and Equestrian Centre in nearby Knutsford will be the scene of their 79th Annual Provincial Winter Fair. Scheduled to take place from September 22nd to 24th this event includes a 4H show and sale, pig races plus a Kids Zone. If that’s not enough there is a live auction set for September 25th.
